Speaker 2:I love this. I haven't streamed regularly in about a year. Every now and then, right, I'm in the exact same boat as you.
Speaker 3:I think I've done more. I don't game, really, I don't do shit in here. I come in here and print. I do my work. Occasionally I might stuff up in the afternoon while I'm working and then go okay, I'll throw in a sneaky game while I'm here. It's slowing down a little bit, but I'm still at my computer doing stuff. But then when I do want a game it's like oh, but you spend so much time doing that. I'm like where, where, who Me? Is there someone else here? We've gone back to that negotiating stage of things where, okay, I've decided Wednesdays and Fridays.
Speaker 3:Fridays is a horrible day for being a parent and streaming usually yeah, I'm not going to lie, fridays is probably one of the worst days to pick, but I don't feel like my body can do two work days because I used to stream only work days in the past.
Speaker 2:Right.
Speaker 3:So in my head friday is a flexible day.
Speaker 3:So if something does come up friday, then I'll just move it to saturday yep, this weekend come around friday, I'm buggered because we're up thursday with six children and that, and all right, that's okay, I'll move it to saturday. Yeah, well, the kids go out. Why? It's like, oh, how about we have nice dinner and watch a movie? Oh, you wanted to stream? I'm like, no, that's fine, we'll do that, we'll do that, we'll watch, watch a movie. So, watch, watching a movie.
Speaker 3:Yeah, she fell asleep. She fell asleep, yeah, an hour into this, an hour into this movie. And by then I'm like, well, now it feels weird, like I can't. You know, I stopped end up stopping the movie sorting out bedrooms so she could go to sleep, but you know it's 10.30 at night, 10 o'clock at night. I've got to go pick up my daughter from her job at 11. It's not enough time to start a stream, whereas the original plan would have been, you know, I would have done at least two hours, two and a half hours, and then could have ended it. Yeah, I pick her up. You know, I might try tonight, I don't know, but it just feels.
Speaker 3:You know, so far all my streams have been severely broken. Oh, really, just just obs issues, stream labs issues, stream labs and tiktok multi-stream issues. Obs and tiktok live issue. I am trying my brain on everything that I know I have adjusted some settings since the last stream so this might correct it, but I don't know. I don't know till next time. Like stream labs, all for doing multi-stream tiktok and twitch at the same time. Yeah, launch is fine, starts running fine, rendering's fine. It looks like it's going great. 20 minutes in end stream error unknown error. So it's a stream labs. It's a stream lads issue, not a my, it's not a me issue, but it seems like a their issue because I can replicate it without doing anything right, you know. So that's why I've gone to my older way my obs broken again, you know you're talking about.
Speaker 3:Yeah, you mix it up, mix it up, ambassador. I had to redo all my mix it up stuff and at the same time I you know, not all of it, just some of it just adjusting little things, especially jumping between obs and stream lab. So I've got to go through and adjust commands to for the, you know, whatever. But then I've got the issue of well, do I change to Atom? So I paid for Atom. Okay, I was like, yeah, all right, let's do it, let's give Atom a go. Loaded it up, went to do my first command. This looks like too much effort. I'm not using it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I've been there.
Speaker 3:It does look nice Like. It really does look like a nice interface. Way too much going on and it bore me for me to make the switch. I know Mixitup. I don't have time to muck around and try and learn a whole new system. I know Mixitup well.
Speaker 3:Streamerbot's another one, there's some stuff that StreamerBot does that I'm very interested in, because they have some type of integration with TikTok now in StreamerBot. Oh, do they. Yeah, I think it's with that, that website, that tick infinity or whatever the website is that does the overrides, but it but it can, it can pull information from that, so that kind of. So you can create triggers inside tiktok, you know in a way.
Speaker 2:So now that streamlabs integrates with tiktok, does it have tiktok commands and stuff?
Speaker 3:no, no, you're actually. You're actually better off using tiktok live studio than you are. Like, the problem. The one thing I like is obs. I can still use tiktok live, and tiktok live studio has, like I have things like I was doing a campaign. This is what got me back into it. I was doing a campaign and, yeah, one of the things is called flares. So you launch a flare and it boosts pushing your live stream to the for you page for like 30 minutes 40 minutes, depending on the flare that you got. So I got given a couple of them so I could use that using TikTok Live Studio.
Speaker 3:I cannot use that with Labs. Labs now has the option to create the title. They never used to be able to choose the title or category. You can do that now, but you can see chat, but that's kind of where it ends. You can't use any of the. I was looking forward to having integration with their store and being able to use overlays like pop-ups, follow alerts, stream goals, et cetera. They do not have that option in Streamlabs, so it's basically just a really raw stream.
Speaker 3:A beautiful thing that they do do is your scenes are joined together, obviously, so when you change to one scene. It has a scene for both and you just choose what assets, what sources are shown on each one, what's vertical, what's horizontal or both. And obviously when you change scenes, you know I want to go from a game stream to just chatting the scene. It'll pick that up. You can do that. You can even set different animations, stingers and that vertical and horizontal. Like you know, all that stuff's cool. Can't do that with obs. So even though I've got adam and the rest of it and I've got scenes there, if I change the scene in obs it doesn't link the two together. There might be a way haven't discovered it yet, but that doesn't seem like an easy way for me to just use the stream deck. Go, cool, it's starting, let's go to this scene. No, it'll change one and then I've got to click on the other. Yeah, right, yeah, hopefully this stuff settles, but it's, it's been fun. It has been fun.
Speaker 3:Yeah, the support's been nice, actually, even with broken, horribly broken streams. You know the audio's gone the you know the video is chugging and lagging, like very early streamer shit going wrong. The people come and buy it all. You know there's a lot of people that I haven't seen or took to in ages that have been nice, that have popped in. It's like you're back, welcome back. You know, I had someone come by on my last stream just as I was ending it because I was having issues. He brought half his, some of his community with him because he saw I was online. It's like, oh, I'm gonna, I'm gonna tell these people to come, come watch it. So good. And you know, I gained like five followers at the end of a stream nice, which was nice, but it's nice seeing people excited that I'm back to sharing. I didn't expect that's cool. I kind of expected to come in really quiet and nothing happened for ages yeah, I think I I do miss that a little bit.
Speaker 2:I I do miss the people getting excited. You know, know, because you know regular life. No one gets excited when you come home from work. No one gets excited about you when you go into your job, you know, but being like, hey, it's Bearded Nova, you know. If you hop in someone else's stream, hey, nova's in chat. Yeah, you know. At home, like, oh, it's you again.
Speaker 3:Exactly. You know I show up at the office at work. I rarely go to the office. I get there and it's like, hey, it'd be nice if you brought coffees in for everyone. Cool, that's it. I've made the journey up here, so I need to give you guys something.
Speaker 2:Right, right, yes, I do. I do miss that aspect of it a little bit, but yeah, so I have been watching a little bit too and trying to get myself motivated to come back and google that every single week. She's like are we streaming this week? I wish every single week. Are we streaming this week?
Speaker 3:I'm like no, no, no, I think you need to have like a fun chat show again.
Speaker 2:You had more fun doing chatting than you did anything else yeah, I switched to the gaming because I didn't feel like doing anything else. Yeah, and that's where you lost it. You know, like when I'm gaming yeah, especially for the game like call of duty or something I have to pay attention to I'm paying attention to it like I'm not looking at chat, you know I think I think you need to go to like fun, fun chat instead.
Speaker 3:I mean, that's like yeah, that's a niche that you did great at having a having.
Speaker 2:I gotta get I gotta get that having, I gotta get that motivation. Yeah, I gotta get that motivation back you know that was my motivation was TikTok.
Speaker 3:Tiktok gave me my motivation to come back and it was purely because I joined that creators. The agency Hadn't really done any streams.
Speaker 3:You know, whatever Thing popped up Black Wukong, black Myth Wukong. Would you like to get a CD key for it? I'm like, yeah, why not? Then would you like to get a cd key for it? I'm like, yeah, why not? Then I get a message going oh yeah, you've been selected to do it. I'm like, oh shit, you know I don't do anything anymore. You guys have selected me. And she goes yeah, the only condition is we want you to do six hours between the 20th and the 26th, so from launch, the first six days of launch. Okay, I can do that. Like it was broken. A lot of it broke.
Speaker 3:As I said, there was lots of streams and restarting streams in that time, but I still did overseas and it was just doing that. Playing that like being forced to hey, there's a game you need to do this as a condition and then forced to play two, three nights in a week. I was like I forgot about this. This is fun. I actually do enjoy this. And then afterwards I'm like, okay, well, what am I Now? I need to look at a schedule. What am I going to do now? It started that one game was enough to give me a push to go. Yeah, yeah, yeah, because I've said it on here so many times that I'm going to want to come back. I want to come back, but there was not that motivation to hit go live. It got to normal time. I'd stream I.
Speaker 2:It got to you know, normal time I'd stream and like, meh, I'd rather lay on the couch and eat chips, like that's. So that my problem is like that's where, where I've been, it's just I just want to game and not have to talk to anybody. I don't want to have to narrate what the fuck I'm doing. You know what I mean and I, you, I've never truly enjoyed the actual gaming and streaming because it's just not, it doesn't work for my brain. Yeah, but yeah, you're right, the chatting thing would be interesting again. I, I, every now and then I see people on tiktok or whatever people that I know, like they're doing these interview type streams and I'm like mine was better than that. Like that makes me that kind of makes me motivated to want to do it again, just like you know.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah, that's how you yeah, you don't know what I mean. That's exactly it. I see things I'm like how I could do that better. I have been done that. I have done that better. I should do that better. Even see like a couple of people that I've like a game with over the time due to like times when our streams would overlap so we do a lot of collab stuff. I miss that. And then I see some of their streams and their streams is missing. That like.
Speaker 3:In particular, there's a video it's popped up twice now in a memory from tiktok, one of the. I think it's the first time I played with ps2 fat boy and we were playing yep, there was a group of us and he's like anyone wants to join, I've joined and the chemistry of us two playing at that time was just for a first interaction. It was just perfect. It was funny. Yeah, the clip was funny like we just it bounced off each other very naturally. We were able to make these jokes. We both had similar humor like it. Just, it was great. And I'm looking at god, he doesn't even have that anymore. I have that. I don't have that. He doesn't have that like I do miss that.
Speaker 2:That was fun, but that I was having fun, that stream yep, I remember you saying that, like I'm remembering I having fun on streams, like when I had when, whether I had a guest or not, or like I was interviewing, or just like people on like two, three people. I'm playing games and just like making fun of each other the whole time or whatever, and then trying to to scare me and like phasmophobia yeah, that shit is fun. Well, we've got that game. What's fun? I brought that game for us. Oh, do you have the VR thing? No, no, no, no, no, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3:That other one, the game that you got like an expert in it now, oh, really, yeah, he's like got a dedicated stream once a week to that game. Jesus, content warning, content warning. It was. But yeah, like that's a figure like you, you that fun chatty aspect, you know, one of the great early stream we've done first things we ever done together was among us, yeah, big among us. That was fun. Yeah, that was still a fun day that was a fun night.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because we had, like, all these people in there very, very mixed bag in, there, though it was a very.
Speaker 3:It was like booty beard and yeah, yeah there was a bit of I think moose was in there. Mama moose was in there yeah, I think so yeah, that was it. It was a mixed bag of people from all over the all over the shop, but it was.
Speaker 2:It was fun. That was like when I was at like about as well as I was doing, you know, and I was meeting all these people and that was cool. I I think I just got like not to rehash every like, I just got burnt out and like I stopped seeing like the value for me for what I was doing. People like, oh, you're helping me so much. Cool, it's not helping me. You know what I mean?
Speaker 3:Yeah, that's why, with this having gone through streaming, I've decided on two nights, not three. Two I want to stream less than what I was and I do plan. You know I am thinking in my head about what I'm going to play ahead and if I can get content out of that. So I want to know if that game is going to give me enough content that I can get clips to post on TikTok, like I really similar to here where we've used Opus and Opus has streamlined this podcast from going from a long form to short form. I'm looking at that Like, if I'm playing this, I don't want to.
Speaker 3:As much as I love doing little TikToks here and there, I don't want to be doing the regular recording in front of a TikTok. As much as I can, if I can do, if I can get away with, because what was it? We were doing three a day, seven days a week, at least 21 TikToks basically a week, yeah, at one stage. You know, when you add that over a month, you're in a hundred on average a month, with replies etc. I want to get that down in half as well and I would want majority of that half to actually be from the stream and clips. Yeah, so I'm doing less. I don't have to think too much about going crap. I've got to record a tiktok for today. I really want to get most of my tiktoks out of the stream to give myself more time without overloading myself yeah, and you can still use like I.
Speaker 2:I, first of all, I a thousand percent agree, because if you can do it that way, then you don't have to come up with another idea and shoot something else and edit something else. You're just clipping something and you might be able to find like a trending sound that works with whatever clip you're using. So you kind of get the best of both worlds. But yeah, I agree, like you remember, like when we were both super heavy into the tiktok, it's exhausting and I would be posted. Hey guys, I'm gonna record 50 tiktoks this weekend because I don't have any time the rest of the week and I would. And I'm just like I'm so drained, yeah, and you get.
Speaker 3:The problem is I found it was a drain on both sides, so it wasn't necessarily TikTok or streaming draining me personally, it was everything else outside that. That stuff actually kept me pretty happy. That was my happy place. That was where I was, you know, really positive and that. But then I'm doing heaps there.
Speaker 3:I'm not, you know, really positive and that, but then I'm doing heaps there, I'm not. You know, I'm not doing it through work or whatever I'm. You know I'm doing it when I have to, but then work would get too overbearing and I'd have a lot to do with work that would just crush my TikTok or my streaming, usually TikTok. First, tiktok got crushed very fast first because I get overloaded with work or something. I'm like I don't feel like doing recordings now. I'm depressed or burnt out, and that was from work.
Speaker 3:It wasn't TikTok, it was work that actually was doing it first, and then that just you know we're not doing the effort into, and then that rolls into TikTok, not pushing it as much, or me not having as much to do, and then I'm looking at it feeling like crap because I haven't done anything or me not having as much to do, and then I'm looking at feeling like crap because I haven't done anything. It's just a roll on effect. So I don't want to do that either. I don't want to feel like I need so much time and that work takes that time away from me. If I can, yeah, do it smarter, yep, yep, I do. Do want to use, though, as we're talking about streaming, so much though dr disrespect returned streaming yesterday yeah, that was interesting.
Speaker 2:Once I didn't watch it I, I haven't been, I was never a fan of his. Like, I don't love his style. I get a lot of people do that's cool. But I did notice that the video he did has two million views already.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah I believe I saw his stream started something like a quarter of a million views at the start of live and then it was. But then I think it dropped down and steadied to like 160, 200 viewers his stream. What if he's monetized again on youtube? No, he's not sorry. From what I could see, most I didn't watch the stream. I watched clips oh, not clips like. I kind of scrolled through the start just to see how this launch, how do you come back? What do you do? Just to see if there was anything at the start of it. There wasn't. And then I found asmongold reaction video to the topic. Obviously that had to be addressed in it. Yep, and you know I'm interested to see how it goes. It's very, very different. He was getting lots of donations still from because you can't stop, you know, your stream elements or whatever that people give you donations. So he's still know, realistically, still made more money in the 20 minutes I saw on an Asmongold video than most streamers trying to go full time, you know.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 3:But his conversation came up around very directed at Cody and the stuff that Cody said on Twitter that he kind of let a lot of it go and just be said out without bringing in too much comments or anything else. And that was around the contract with Twitch, like we talked about at the time, the Twitch contract. He still got paid out. He still he still went to court and got money for it. And that was always a confusing part of the whole scenario to me is how does someone get money for a contract when you would have definitely broken? That definitely would have been a clause to break contract, especially multi-million dollar contract. So Doc talked about this.
Speaker 3:All happened short, not long after going signing the big deal with twitch. Prior, prior to twitch, he had a stream twitch partner manager who did nothing for them, didn't, didn't push them to the front page, didn't, didn't even follow any of his accounts. His partner manager didn't actually follow anything. So there was a lot of beef between him and this partner manager and when time came to go bigger contract, he actually put in their stipulation he wants a new partner manager For obvious reasons. You want someone if you're going to have a. You're dealing with a brand. You want a good connection and shortly after that it seems like this ex-partner manager was a lot involved in the allegations the whispers, the pulling up the information on the whispers, the push to get him banned. There was a lot of oh wow, there was no conversations between him about any of it. It was just a straight-out, well banned situation where he pointed out multiple times in the past. Twitch has had similar people in other situations and they get to speak on their behalf. There wasn't a ban. They might've been suspended or they'd been signed a new deal, but similar cases in the past. He sounded very much like it was a bit of a conspiracy to help get rid of him was his point of view. He said the person was not a minor that they spoke to. There was no conversation to actually meet up in person. None of that was in the court cases or anything like that.
Speaker 3:Everything did go to the child safety your version of child safety over there. They you know it's still to this date. Nothing has come from that. There was nothing from their investigation that it was so and he's well, you know. It does sound very much like this person was 17. Yes, I get it, 17. It's, you know, 16's age, grey water there. Yeah, obviously he's married. Children shouldn't do shit like that. Yeah, but at the same time we're kind of seeing where he's coming from.
Speaker 3:This, a lot of these things, has caused a lot of movement for him in a way that does seem like an attack, this. So this all came out very quickly after mix was collapsing and you had the likes of stroud and ninja gonna be needing to find a new home and that twitches has put a lot of money into doc and you going to be needing to find a new home and they just put a lot of money into Doc and you need to get out of a contract to try and get some money to get some of these people. He had some valid points in his conversation. I mean the one thing I didn't hear and I haven't Googled to see if this was, but I mean personally there's a lot different defamation if this was. But I mean personally there's a lot different defamation. Like if this is the case and there's enough that has been done, now he's lost a lot of money, like I'd be looking at Coyote to be like, well, you can pay me the money that I've just lost because of you. To be honest, there's no way I'd just be like meh, I would personally be looking at suing. But, as you know, I guess more will probably come to light Now. More will come out about the situation and happen.
Speaker 3:Doc did mention that inside the settlement with Twitch, you know there was agreement. No party was to talk about it. They've just agreed. You know normal settlement rules. But now Cody and these other people have started talking about that's kind of broken the twitch site so he can actually he's gone away had a thought about it. Come back on you know what. No, I am gonna say I am gonna say some stuff about it. So, right, it'll be very interesting, like I'm just still very interested to know how this all folds out in the end yeah, oh, what was the?
Speaker 2:what's the reaction been like? Because I haven't read too much about, I haven't seen, I haven't looked anything onto twitter yet.
Speaker 3:Asmongold and he's chat were pretty positive, I guess would probably be the best way to put it. A lot of them were like, yeah, okay, yeah, this this is kind of making sense, but they're asking, and you know they're. They're a lot of them were asking the same questions. Well, sue, so we're waiting for this announcement that you're going to sue. Doc's not a kid. You know he isn't a kid, so I don't, I don't expect him to act like a kid and turn around and go. I'm suing this guy on the internet. That's something that he probably, as an adult, or you and me, if we were having, in, you know, discussions with lawyers to do a defamation case. I'm not announcing it on the. You know what I mean. That's going to be. That's going to be closed behind, behind doors, yep yep, so that could be going to case, who knows?
Speaker 2:it's. It's tough, like you know, when, when it, when we didn't know what was going on for years, you know didn't really think as much about it. When he kind of admitted something, that happened, you know, everybody turned against him and I think the problem right now is that reputation that he got several months ago. Those kind of allegations, even if they're not true, they don't go away. No, they don't. People, people will still always label him as one thing or another, even if it's completely proven false.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I found, especially after Dr Disrespect, we had the Mr Beast, Chris Ava.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that all happened. And that wasn't even him, that was like someone on the team.
Speaker 3:Yeah, that's what I mean, Chris, the team member, chris, oh yeah, but it still affected Mr Beast. He's been under fire for lots of different things. Now they're not even looking at just that. They're looking at all types of aspects, with mr beast still, but his team member. You know there was actually screenshots of tweets, pulled up information. You know there was a lot of actual evidence towards yeah or proof to push you towards the way of going. Hey, that's inappropriate. No, that shouldn't be the case. You know did.
Speaker 3:Did mr beast take too long to respond? Yeah, he probably needed to respond a lot sooner than what he did for it. I do understand, you know, a long term. You know that person had been there since the start with him, so I do understand that. But he probably needed to think about the business faster and the brand faster than that. But how the internet reacted towards Chris and Ava Chris slash Ava because I'm trans the difference was very night and day between that and Doc, very night and day.
Speaker 3:I don't know why that's the case. Like was it? Was it that no one wanted to really get hit hard because of the the trans aspect to it? Was it because of the mr beast aspect to it. I don't know. There's a lot. Why two situations that are very similar but then both have different levels of evidence, why one can be very harshly reacted and gone with little to no evidence. Besides, I've got a source. I'm sorry, but I don't hate. I hate that I've got a source that has said this no, that's you know. Everyone's saying I've got a different sort. What's, what's this? What's the source you know?
Speaker 3:I mean I think the internet wants proof either way, like like they got with chris, they got proof around it. I still think there's there's some people out there that do want the proof. They just want to know. Other people don't give a crap. They've left, they've set. You know it's creepy, we're done. You know, dr looper I think he came out. He had a reaction for the doc return his. His reaction was the end of the day. If you side with any of it, it's just fucking wrong. You know he's not changing his opinion because he in his and again dr lupo, is very similar in age, a family man, like a very similar streamer to Dockard Disrespect in terms of the personal aspect. He's just turned the end of the day. That's just wrong. He shouldn't have been there and I get that.
Speaker 3:I get that he shouldn't have been there yeah but I do say it's gonna shake, you know, gonna bring back what we had a couple of months ago when he, when he left.
Speaker 3:There'll be another, you know I expect another week or so of just news articles, jumping on it, putting out things, trying to find more information. I'm sure we'll probably, if something does happen in this, we'll probably mention it again in the future, but I just wanted to bring it up. I thought it was really interesting that he actually returned to streaming and he actually said something I, I am too, and what I did catch of it?
Speaker 2:I was shocked that it was like it was like the same as it ever was. Like the same opening, the same intros, you know same character. Like I didn't know if it would be more stripped down or whatever, but like a statement yeah.
Speaker 2:So what I find interesting about it, though, is you know, we've talked about before how lots of streamers, online content creators, personalities, have had issues right, and they all they do these bad things, and stuff happens and they get canceled or they recover or whatever. And you know, once we've always told people is you know, you, you have to be careful of your right brand. You know, be careful what you do, cause what you, everything you say, is, is permanent, no matter how to private. You think it is. Yeah, and it's making me wonder. Now I'm thinking, you know, I think if you want to get into, like do content creation, like that's a job or a way to earn money, you're subject to the, to the public opinion based on it for everything you do. And it's like I'm thinking of myself, like I don't want to have my career, my earning power, to be to hinge on what the random internet person thinks about me.
Speaker 3:Yeah, like that, no, thank you yeah, they can be stripped away from you. So, so fast. I mean, I saw it on tv the other day. I was walking through the kitchen and the wife was watching something and it was false allegations about something else and I'm like it takes one and I'm and I don't want to sound sexist at all when I say this, but a vendettful Me Too, fake Me Too moment was basically what I saw on the TV. That's just a she's just gone hard at a fake Me Too moment just to get what she not, because the world looks at it differently and it doesn't matter whether you're innocent or not. You are going to have that moment of doubt, everyone will have a moment of doubt, and you're labeled like that for life. You're done, you're done yeah, yep, yep.
Speaker 2:They say that in politics all the time is when they release something or leak something.
Speaker 3:It doesn't have to be true, it just has to get out there, except if you trump just seems to like reverse when you're trying for some reason I don't know what that is he's. He's got a magical way of doesn't matter how bad or something that comes out for him, he can turn that into into gold I think because he's he's done so many insane things that it just it's.
Speaker 2:It's people just numb to it. They can be like oh, he punched the child in the face. The classic trump, you know, it just would.
Speaker 3:Nothing phases people he should have done that at home alone too, right yeah, but yeah, so that's it's turning it all the way back around.
Speaker 2:Like that's awesome that you're you kind of got the energy again to get back into do some streaming, you know, and I think that, like, I think what's made the difference for you is it like because you did one and like now you have a little bit of motivation again.
Speaker 3:Yeah, that's it. I did one, had a little bit of motivation, that's. That's all it's done. Yeah, probably I'm not gonna touch much more on it, all it up here, but we'll be probably touching base with it over months. I might just give a little update here and there to say where where things are with it yeah, cool.
